On Oct 17, 1998, thoroughbred Tim Dugan retired from racing. Unfortunately for the crowd who braved a blinding rain storm to watch him race one more time, Tim did not risk racing on the sloppy track. Trained for much of his career by Shane Stout, Tim Dugan came to the Woodlands in its second season as a two year old, and became proof of the saying "different horses for different courses." One of those horses who rarely win at other tracks, Tim Dugan won races against some stiff competition at the Woodlands. (Another award winning Tim Dugan)
